How Sites Qualify For Listing

We don't list just any old bunch of pictures or numbers.  Here are the criteria we use when evaluating a site for listing.

How Museums Qualify to be Listed on Collectibles-Museums.com:

• Must have a nice online presentation.  Bricks and morter are irrelevant.
• Must be of items that are legitimately collected.  Value judgements of the collectors are not made.
• Must be a functioning site, though images may be old since the items are often old anyway.
• No consideration from the site is requested or accepted.
• The museum must be interesting, informative, useful, and the more entertaining the better.

How Price Guides Qualify to be Listed on Collectibles-Museums.com:

• The guides must be free to access at least a portion of the prices.
• There must be some apparent basis for the prices.
• Prices must be current enough to be valid or stated as historical for trending purposes.
• The price guide may be affiliated with a commercial purpose, but not just as a cover for selling.

How Glossaries Qualify to be Listed on Collectibles-Museums.com:

• The breadth should be fairly comprehensive for its topic.
• The definitions should be expansive enough to be useful.
• They should appear to be accurate to an experienced collector.

How Reference Sites Qualify to be Listed on Collectibles-Museums.com:

• The same as above, except that, while they have good information, they do not have sufficient images or prices to be considered a Museum or Price Guide.
• They often have visual references such as pictures of marks or features of a collectible.

How Blogs Qualify to be Listed on Collectibles-Museums.com:

• The blogging must be currently active.
• The presentation must be reasonable clear and appealing.
• The content must be interesting and primarily original.
• It should not be primarily a sales site.

If you know of a site that should be listed, please use the Suggest A Site form.  You don't have to Register.  For Blogs, the blogger must Register, and will then have access to display creation tools to create, in essence, a descriptive "Ad" for the blog.  Once a site is listed, the site owner can use the membership Site Badge available through the Get Your CMO Badge link.
